Good job darling! =D
No, of course he didn't propose.
But yes, he really gave me a surprise.
1 year odd of being together, this is the first official time that he gave me a surprise. Well, to surprise me, it ain't easy. Firstly, the gifts that I'd love to have are usually pricey, and there are a 101 things that I want to get. So, if he were to surprise me with gifts, it's near to impossible. =)
So, he surprised me with food.
I used to think that I'm very low maintenance when it comes to food. It's like I can eat at MacDonald's everyday, or even a simple meal of chicken rice for every meal. But now, I can say that, I'm no longer low maintenance.
Well, Jeremy Lee, you have yourself to blame. Now you have to feed me expensive stuff on top of buying expensive stuff for me. =p
Ever since I've gotten together with Jem, I feel that I can no longer eat food like how I used to. Of course I still love my MacDonald and chicken rice, but I will yearn to opt for the best I can get - taste and quality.
For example, I used to detest beef. I wouldn't go into any restaurant that has that beefy stench. But now, I'm beginning to love it, and I cannot go to places that serve bad quality beef.
There was once, darling and I went to this restaurant/cafe place at Serangoon Gardens for lunch with his AG. Thankfully, I ordered the pork chops. Baby's steak was BAD. It didn't have the natural taste of beef that it should have - it tasted bland. We will NEVER go back to that place for steak again, the rest were okay, not too bad.
I think my taste buds are slowly developing. No doubt I obviously still do not know the difference between the grades of steak cuts, I definitely can taste what's awesome and what's really shit.
Anyway, now it's time to reveal where he brought me to. This sneaky child tricked me a few times.
Jem: Oh, I just checked, CTE's traffic is quite jam, we shall go via Thomson.
Me (thinking): "Oh, we're going to Orchard?"
But we didn't go onto Thomson. We ended up on Lornie Road. So I thought, maybe he was bringing me to Dempsey, via Holland Road.
But we passed Holland Road.
Me: Oh! We're going towards Vivo that side!
Jem: Maybe?
Me: Are we going to Mt Faber?
Jem: Don't know?
Me: We are going to Mt Faber! =D
But we passed Mt Faber.
Me: Ooooooh, we're going to Prive?
Jem: Maybe? Dont know?
But we passed Keppel Bay.
Me: We're going to Vivo for dinner? What is there to eat there? Don't think that there's anything nice there.
Jem: Oh no, how ah?
Me: No choice I guess.
But we passed Vivocity.
GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR..............
Me: (Seeing that we are turning into Sentosa) We're going to Sentosa?!?!?!
Jem: HAHA YEAH...
Me: OMG! One Degree 15?
Jem: No la! You bring me there next time.
Me: Yeah, when I propose to you - basically NEVER.
So, he brought me to this alfresco setting restaurant in Sentosa called "Suburbia".
They were having a 1-for-1 deal at $68++ for:
We both had the beef, as it was the smarter thing to choose.
My comments:
Appetizer - wasn't as good as it should be, but it's a pass. 3/5
Soup - it was very well done, but I can taste more of the chicken stock than onion. 3.5/5
Main course - darling said that it's definitely not a grade 8, but it's flavour to me is nice. 3.5/5
Dessert - I'm not much of a dessert person, but it's done well. 3.5/5
Well, I would go back again, if the 1-for-1 deal is still on. Pricing is really good. =D
Thank you darling for making the effort to surprise me, I really appreciate it. =) I'll be waiting for the next surprise! LOVE YOU!
